This Lung Cancer Awareness Month, share how easy a lung cancer screening is with a Veteran you know

Guests/Speakers

Lysa Buonanno, Dr. David Carbone

In this ROS1 Biomarker video you will learn the answers to these questions:

  1. What is the best way to treat #ros1 #biomarker lung cancer?
  2. Is Immunotherapy an option to treat ROS1 Biomarker lung cancer?

ROS1 Biomarker Lung Cancer

In lung cancer patients with a #ROS1 #Biomarker mutation, ROS1 acts like a stuck gas pedal. The ROS1 mutation drives the cancer to grow and to keep growing. Research has discovered that lung cancer patients with a ROS1 biomarker respond to treatments that target the ROS1 biomarker and turn off the gene. This stops the cancer from being able to grow and increases the ROS1 lung cancer survival rate. Dr. David Carbone, of the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University, says,

“Immunotherapy has revolutionized lung cancer treatments for many patients.”

However, patients with a ROS1 biomarker driving their cancer are less likely to benefit from immunotherapy than other lung cancer patients. Dr. Carbone recommends starting with ROS1 targeted therapies first. The idea is to continue those as long as they’re working.

In this video, lung cancer patient and advocate, Lysa Buonanno, asks Dr. David Carone the questions important for those #livingwithlungcancer. And, Dr. Carbone, who is a leading lung cancer expert, provides the answers.
